Bombs Away

Bomber Jacket - Brag Vintage / Jeans - Rick Owens DRKSHDW / Rings - Ebay (Wholesale)

If any of you follow my posts at MTV Fora you may have seen my post looking for the perfect bomber jacket. I held off until I truly found the perfect one... and I think I just did. When I saw this one I knew it was right. Just big enough, the right shape on the back, I loved it. We've luckily been having a mild fall here (which I'm loving) but it's about time I pull this bad boy out. And while I've got you... I've never been one to accessorize much, but ever since I got these rings they barely leave my fingers. I bought a wholesale lot of 30 rings in various sizes, so I have at least one for each finger. Cost efficient way to achieve the multi finger ring look. You know me, always thrifty!

PULLTEETH LOVES JEREMY SCOTT

It's no secret that I've been a long time fan of Jeremy Scott. (Just check the tag) I've been talking about doing this video for years, specifically with my two good friends Freya and Chelsea. Collectively we have a shocking amount of his clothes in our possession, so it made perfect sense for us to work together on this. I was approached by the lovely folks at Synonym Art Consultation to create a piece to be looped at a Nuit Blanche party here in Winnipeg, and I figured it was the perfect opportunity to create the video!

So here's to you Jeremy! We love you!

The Blues

T-Shirt - Raf Simons / Skort - Thrifted / Sneakers - Puma

Ah, the thrills of having short hair. Completely buzzed one week, blue the next. There was a minute there where I was starting to feel like I blended into the crowd too much, so naturally I bleached it all and coloured it blue. People warned me before shaving my head that I wouldn't be able to do much with it. I'd like to think I'm proving them wrong. And for the shirt.. I don't even know what to say. Raf has always been that designer for me that I dreamt about wearing but never thought I actually would. My collection is slowly starting to grow and I'm truly starting to appreciate owning beautifully designed, well made designer pieces. This guy was a gift from my parents for my 23rd birthday, and suuuuuch a happy addition to my closet. Gotta love the folks!

Paper Doll

Shirt - Jeremy Scott x Adidas / Sunglasses - Forever 21

Staying true to the statement from my last post, here is another comically oversized piece I've purchased lately. My Jeremy Scott collection is ever growing, thanks in part to his ongoing collaboration with Adidas. His price points for mainline pieces aren't too too bad, but being able to grab a sale item or two from the Adidas line is pretty nice. While I have your attention, why don't we take a look at a few pieces I'm eyeing from his latest collection with Adidas. He's at it again!

Enter The Lab

Hat - Roberto Piqueras c/o Lab & ID / Shirt - Joe Fresh / Shorts - Thrifted

A big thank you to the folks over at Lab & ID who picked me as the winner of their Facebook contest for this amazing Roberto Riqueras cap. I've been a huge fan of his work for a while but haven't been lucky enough to wear/own a piece of his until now. If you like his work you should prrrrrobabbly check out Lab & ID's sale section where a few of his pieces are at a crazy good price right now.

PS: Can we please talk about these XXL light denim shorts I just thrifted? My recent philosophy for shorts (and all clothes in general) is the bigger the better. I mean it. Like, ridiculously huge, made for someone twice my size. If you need me I'll be scavenging the maternity/plus size section of the local thrift store.

New Beginnings

Hat - 40 OZ NYC
The last few weeks have been quite crazy for me. I moved out into my first apartment which is exciting, scary, incredible, time consuming, and thrilling, all at the same time. The internet wasn't installed for the first two weeks, so I basically didn't know what to do with myself. I kept having people ask "does it feel like home yet?" and it truly didn't until now, sitting in my bed (aka my home office) being able to blog at my own will. It may sound sad, but so much of what I do revolves around the internet.

At any rate... I am settling in, loving being on my own. It's interesting how your perspective changes. I barely even think about clothes anymore, let go alone shopping for them. I've made a complete shift into everything interior. The first section I check when I go thrifting is the housewares, which was a section I normally avoided at all costs. It's so much fun walking into a place with blank white walls and being able to create a space that truly feels your own. It's a slow process, but I'd rather wait to find the pieces that are truly special instead of just buying for the sake of buying.

It truly feels like a new beginning for me. I'm excited to share the process here on Pullteeth. Who knows? Maybe there will be some housewares or interior DIYs? If you have any suggestions for interior blogs, please share! Inspire me.

All this talk of interior, but I haven't completely forgot about clothes. I might scale back on my online shopping a bit, but when I saw this 40 OZ NYC hat I knew it needed to join my collection. I mean, I'm still an online shopping addict deep down inside. I don't think that'll ever change.

Jersey - Vintage Fubu / Leather Pants - Thrifted / Snapback - Ham on Everything

Football shouldered shirts, jackets, and sweaters were one of my favorite trends from last season. A look that I definately loved, but wondered how I could translate it to my everyday wardrobe. It never occurred to me that perhaps an actual football inspired piece would be easy enough to find. On Value Village 50% off day I snagged this vintage Fubu Jersey and it is actually perfect - great fabric weight, wide sleeves, even the font is weirdly amazing. There is a definite Shaun Samson feel to it, which makes me love it even more. All for the price tage of $7. Can't beat that!

Just Shoot Me

Sweater - Jeremy Scott
It's become a tradition of mine to wear a Jeremy piece on the day of his show. Today I'm wearing a knit sweater I found on eBay a few months ago. The one thing about this piece is that I need to be mindful about not wearing it around children, ha! It's actually strange owning pieces that you personally don't think twice about, but other people have trouble understanding. (hello Martin Margiela keyring necklace) Oh well, shock value has to be worth something, right?

This season we get more graphic, unapologetic pieces from Jeremy. There is a definite grunge feel with this collection with I'm feeling... Something I've been going for the last little bit with my personal style. A good baggy plaid short and combat boots, I'm so game. I've actually had dreams about thrifting a fur coat like the one he showed. I know it likely won't happen, but a boy can dream! Plus these zip knee pants and getting the DIY wheels turning in my head. Might have to try these out. Another great show from Jeremy!

T-shirt - J.W Anderson x Topshop / Scarf - Marni x H&M

Gotta love these affordable designer collaborations. The t-shirt I purchased while I was in Copenhagen earlier this winter. I knew I neeeeeded something from the collection, and a t-shirt seemed like a pretty easy crossover piece from the womenswear line. Got the scarf as a gift from the lovely people at H&M when I visited their offices last year. I've been struggling to have a good scarf moment and the latest Acne collection (shown below) solidified that it needs to happen. It's a tough look to pull off but I'm going to try it anyways...

Heart & Sole

Jacket - Vintage / Sweater - Cheap Monday / Hat - Actual Pain / Kilt - Vintage / Pants - Jeremy Scott Adidas
Shoes - Bernhard Willhelm x Camper via Solestruck

I've recently teamed up with Solestruck who were kind enough to send me one of my dream shoes, the Camper for Bernhard Willhelm sneakers. They've featured me in an interview on their blog as well as on the main page of their website?! It's honestly so strange to see your own mug plastered on one of your favourite online shops. Such an honour, so thank you Solestruck!

Off The Deep End

T-shirt - Proudrace / Hat - Actual Pain
Another instalment in my dumb video series...a year later. Why just take photos of an outfit when you can dance around in it? If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen I got this Proudrace t-shirt that I blogged about last year that was gifted to me my by sister. It's from a Canadian shop, Lab & ID., run by a few pals of mine. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already..
Happy new year to you all! More posts to come in the future... or at least that's the plan...

riff raf

I feel that there is a wide misconception that all bloggers have infinite amounts of money to spend on clothes. For most of us, that is simply not the case. Yes, I read the same blogs as you. And yes, some of them bring out the worst forms of jealousy in me too. I work a regular job, save for nice things, and truly know the power of a good deal. Take this Raf Simons vest I recently purchased. Retailed last season for $350 but I managed to eBay it for only $60 bucks. (tags still attached, I might add) I'm a true thrifter at heart, so forking out the money on fully priced designer pieces is a concept completely foreign to me. So, for now I'll continue scouring the depths of the internet for these one-of-a-kind bargains. You know... until I'm rich and famous.

Put A (Key) Ring On It

Turtleneck - Vintage / Necklace - Martin Margiela x H&M
This oversize keyring necklace has become thhhhheee staple piece for Bloggers from the Margiela H&M collaboration. Count it: HOLY, Love Aesthetics, Beckerman Bite Plate, Stop It Right Now... (well, the original, but still counts) Glad to say I got my hands on it so I can match all my favs. The absence of H&M in Winnipeg proves a hindrance on my life time and tiiiime again. Thankfully I have wonderful friends in other cities who kept an eye out for this necklace for me. Thanks to Nick for picking this up for me!
What did you think of the collaboration? What were your stand out pieces? What did you pick up? Tell me everything

FOLLOW ME!

Still going strong on Instagram! It's so much easier to do quick outfit posts on there, so if you want to see what I'm doing/what I'm buying/what I'm wearing you should prrrrobably follow me there.

Secondly, I finally caved in and got myself a Tumblr. I used to hate the concept of Tumblr. I basically thought it was people stealing content from others and claiming it as their own. Once I decided to give it a chance I really realized the potential it held. It's perfect as an inspiration board, and it's pretty great to be constantly bombarded with beautiful photos. I've totally converted, I love it!

MTV Fora Update

I thought I would take a minute to share some of my favorite posts I've done for my blogging home-away-from-home, MTV Fora. If you don't already know, I do posts (relatively) every Tuesday on Fora. Lots o' trends, lots o' online shopping tips, lots o' DIYs, lots o' fun! These three posts are just the tip of the iceberg. You can take a look at the Pullteeth tag to see all my posts. Hope you enjoy!

The GIF Says It All

Shirt - Rick Owens DRKSHDW / Shorts - Thrifted / Hat - Dollar Store / Sunglasses - Gray Ant
I've been living in this XXXL ladies plaid shorts for the past two weeks. They seem to go with everything, plus every time I wear them they are mistaken for a kilt at least once. Obviously I love that.
These bad boys are the newest addition to my sunglasses collection. I figured I wanted to go with a biiiit of a different shape than I'm used to and I quite like them! Plus they were mega discounted (something like 70% off with free shipping) so you can't really beat that, now can you?
Hope everyone is enjoying spring! Our weather has been crap here but I'm sure it'll turn around soon. I'm ready for short-shorts! (only half kidding...)

Rainy Day

Rain Coat - Thrifted / Button up - Vintage Levis / Hat - Dollar store / Necklace - Thrifted
Normal Song - Perfume Genius

What was meant to be a productive day took a vicious turn for the worst when I opened my blind this morning. Nothing calls for a stay-in-bed-and-only-watch-episodes-of-Girls kind of day like a pure gray sky. Once I eventually peeled my lazy ass out of bed (4 hours after waking up, I should add) I decided it was the perfect opportunity to wear this rain coat I thifted a few months back. Part raver, part garbage bag, part, dare I say it, practical. Worn with what I think is my new favorite button up and this incredible triple ring necklace. The necklace is truly one of those thrift finds you really wonder "Who owned this before and why the hell did they get rid of it?!"

For now I think I'll retire back into my bed. On your way out, you should prrrrobably head over to Refinery 29 and check out their post titled "6 Canadian Style Bloggers You Need To Know Now." I'll give you a hint why.. there may be a certain male style blogger you recognize. ;)

Mesh & Leather

Mesh shirt - Thrifted / Mickey Shirt - Thrifted / Necklace - Thrifted / Leather Shorts - Altered Vintage Pants / Boots - Dr. Martens / Sunglasses - Jil Sander

Alas, finally some nice weather. I think this will mean good things for blogging. I can actually put the extra effort into my outfits, and I'm not freezing my ass off trying to take outfit shots. Lets hope it lasts... (We've been burned before. Winnipeg is the worst)
A bit about this outfit... this mesh shirt has proved itself to be the best laying piece ever. I've worn it a million different ways, but this is the first time trying it over a graphic t-shirt. I wanted a pair of super baggy leather shorts so I bought these ladies leather pants and chopped them off. Easy as that.
Also, does anyone else ever feel a weird sense of accomplishment when you step outside and realize that nearly every piece you're wearing is thrifted? I love that this outfit (excluding the sunglasses) cost under $25 bucks. It's all about the small joys in life. ;)
