One of my many weaknesses in this world is eye-wear. I'll admit it. I'm like a kid in a candy store when it comes to shopping for glasses - and more specifically - sunglasses. My go-to is usually Tim Ford for their iconic and classic shapes. I've had my eye on a few pairs of Maui Jim for quite some time now, too. Great price points and incredibly unique styles. Buuuuuut, once in a while, I find myself clicking around in the full on luxury category with a brand like Givenchy.. Which brings us here. I tend to go for a more square shape for my face, but thought it was time to try our a more round style. As I was clicking through the photos of these bad boys (photographed above) I thought it was exactly what I needed. Then I started noticing the details. These aren't your typical shades - no sir. The gold detailing on the top is so perfectly placed. Hidden, almost, until you tilt you head down to a pretty flashy reveal. That's what drew me to this style. On first look they are practical, sleek, and well made. But on further evaluation they have a completely different feel. I love a well designed, well thought out piece of any kind - but these shades might take the cake.

New Beginnings

The last few weeks have been quite crazy for me. I moved out into my first apartment which is exciting, scary, incredible, time consuming, and thrilling, all at the same time. The internet wasn't installed for the first two weeks, so I basically didn't know what to do with myself. I kept having people ask "does it feel like home yet?" and it truly didn't until now, sitting in my bed (aka my home office) being able to blog at my own will. It may sound sad, but so much of what I do revolves around the internet.

At any rate... I am settling in, loving being on my own. It's interesting how your perspective changes. I barely even think about clothes anymore, let go alone shopping for them. I've made a complete shift into everything interior. The first section I check when I go thrifting is the housewares, which was a section I normally avoided at all costs. It's so much fun walking into a place with blank white walls and being able to create a space that truly feels your own. It's a slow process, but I'd rather wait to find the pieces that are truly special instead of just buying for the sake of buying.

It truly feels like a new beginning for me. I'm excited to share the process here on Pullteeth. Who knows? Maybe there will be some housewares or interior DIYs? If you have any suggestions for interior blogs, please share! Inspire me.

All this talk of interior, but I haven't completely forgot about clothes. I might scale back on my online shopping a bit, but when I saw this 40 OZ NYC hat I knew it needed to join my collection. I mean, I'm still an online shopping addict deep down inside. I don't think that'll ever change.

Living a Lie

A day will come when I will truly learn my shoe size and stick to it. Until then, I will continue to pretend that I can squeeze into a 40 sandal, meaning I will spend my hard earned money on designer footwear that I won't ever be able to wear. Seriously, though. How could I not lie to myself about these iconic Christopher Kane orthopedic looking metallic beauties? Imagine them with white socks... dear lord. But, if you were wondering, a Christopher Kane 40 is a regular 40 and not magically the 42 I would need for them to fit. So I had to settle for a simple are of Adidas. (which are great too! don't get me wrong)

On that note, if anybody is a size 40 and wants to chat about buying these from me my email is on the bottom bar. Give me a shout ;) I'd love for them to go to a good home who would truly appreciate them!

I feel that there is a wide misconception that all bloggers have infinite amounts of money to spend on clothes. For most of us, that is simply not the case. Yes, I read the same blogs as you. And yes, some of them bring out the worst forms of jealousy in me too. I work a regular job, save for nice things, and truly know the power of a good deal. Take this Raf Simons vest I recently purchased. Retailed last season for $350 but I managed to eBay it for only $60 bucks. (tags still attached, I might add) I'm a true thrifter at heart, so forking out the money on fully priced designer pieces is a concept completely foreign to me. So, for now I'll continue scouring the depths of the internet for these one-of-a-kind bargains. You know... until I'm rich and famous.

If I were blind...

A shocking realization came over my recently. With the extended (and I mean extended) amounts of time I spend staring at the computer screen, it's only a matter of time until I'm going to need a pair of eyeglasses. I know, I know. People who have glasses hate them. People who don't have glasses hate that they don't have them. You always want what you can't have. Regardless, I thought I would share a few pairs of designer glasses that would I would love to have (if I needed them, that is..)

First up are these Gucci glasses. I love the classic aviator shape with a thicker frame. There's something allllmost Terry Richardson about them, which I'm not sure I love or hate about them. At any rate, the classic Gucci logo on the side is a nice touch.

Secondly are these Ray Ban prescription glasses. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen my post a few weeks ago where I donned a strikingly similar pair of glasses. Those, alas, were not real, but these guys are the perfect alternative. Classic style with a modern spin. I've owned a few pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses in my day, and they are easily the sturdiest, most soundly built sunglasses I have owned. I don't treat my possessions very well, so something that will withstand the worst treatment would probably be a good route to head down.

So, for now these will only have to be an unrealistic wish list. I'll just have to wait for my freak accident that compromises my 20/20 vision.

I'm obsessed with a good skirt look, but I'm always skeptical about actually pulling one off. Winnipeg isn't always the most fashion forward city, so sometimes I have to make fashion decisions based on the norm. Don't get me wrong, I don't let anyone or any place determine my style, but sometimes it's nice to be able to yell back "THEY'RE PANTS, ASSHOLE" to the inevitable weird glances. So thanks to I Don't Like Mondays for carrying pants that walk the thin line between menswear and ladies-wear, a line I walk ever so carefully.

For the Love of Jil

As many of you may know, I am undoubtedly a hoarder of sunglasses. I have no shame in it. Though most of the time I pride myself in a good thrift store find, it is always nice to get yourself a pair of amazing quality, well made frames. Though I do have a wide selection of shades, I find myself always going to the classic pair of Rayban wayfarers. That's why when I was choosing my next pair of designer frames I knew I wanted something with a classic feel - but this time with a bit of an edge. I'm so glad I chose these Jil Sander sunglasses in blue. The shape is classic enough but it all comes down to the detailing, which is what I love so much about the Jil Sander brand. Classic pieces but there is always some twist to it. The "Jil Sander" logo is small, modest, and only on one side. There's something to say about labels that are more about the integrity of the pieces over the flashiness of their brand name. Gotta love it.
Now I'm somewhat guilty on splurging on crrrrazy, unwearable designer pieces, which ultimately end up - you guessed it - never getting worn. But, I feel like I am finally learning the concept of investment pieces. Finding beautiful quality items (like these shades here) which you know will integrate perfectly into your current wardrobe. The whole idea of luxury goods should be that you get to enjoy them - not just have them sit around collecting dust.
br> With the spring season (dare I say it!!) quickly approaching, it's time to start thinking about what items you would like to add to your wardrobe before the weather starts changing. Take a look at Sunglasses Shop and perhaps start to think quality over quantity, which is a lesson I am slowly teaching myself. It's fun to have nice things, just make sure that you'll actually wear them!

Hat - SSUR / Sweater - Thrifted / Necklace - Thrifted I know what you're thinking. I haven't blogged in forever. Well Comme Des Fuck Down, alright?! Here I am!! I've had a super crazy holiday season with all the visits from out of town friends and family events. What ever happened to the good old days of being in elementary school with no job and no commitment? When you could actually enjoy the break. I don't want to complain though because the past little while has been crazy - but also crazy good! I've done some major online shopping and this hat is probably the most amazing thing I've found. Images of it have been floating around all over the internet (mainly tumblr) and I knew I had to somehow get my hands on it. Every lead I seemed to find to this sold out hat ended in a dead end until I happened upon the original online shop page for it. In big red letters it read "SOLD OUT" but, for whatever reason, the order form was still usable. I tried my luck, sent in an order, waited a week and a half, then got a conformation that it was sent out. How lucky am I?!! What the hell!!!!!!
So, the moral of the story is - online shopping rules and continues to be the best invention ever.

IS THIS REAL LIFE?!!!!

Anyone who follows my blog know there are two things I live for: Sunglasses and Boy London (Okay, maybe three things... Jeremy Scott too). I nearly fell over in my chair when I came across these dead stock vintage sunglasses on ebay. Seriously, I went into panic mode. Luckily they were 'buy it now' so I didn't have to stress for days about whether or not I was going to get them. These are almost too perfect though. Metal frames, classic eagle logo, shattered effect? I can't even process these. And the best part? I had this photo saved in my inspiration folder for months. Who would've thought I'd one day get my hands on a pair?! Certainly not me!
So. Let this be a lesson to all of you. Checking your favorite ebay searches religiously actually can pay off. Persistence, people!!

As you can probably tell from my latest DIY, I'm pretty obsessed with sunglasses. Since most of my sunglasses are second hand or come from a dollar store, I'm not really used to having good quality ones. But I'm learning that sometimes it's nice to shell out the extra bit of money for a pair of sunglasses you really love. My cheap ass hardly ever does it, but when I do it's got to be for something really special. Having said that, check out my brand new Linda Farrow x Walter Van Beirendonck sunglasses!

Here's the second of four lenses it comes with. I feel like these ones kind of give me bitch eyebrowns. I'm kind of into it?! Maybe I'll wear them when I'm in a bad mood.

Blood is the New Black

Holy smokes! It's been far too long. As per usual, I have no good reason for my absence from blogging. So, instead of boring you with fake excuses I'll get right to it. I got a nice treat in the mail after work today. My order from Blood is the New Black! I was extra excited to get this package, not only because of the amazing Brian Lictenberg collaboration t-shirt (front and center) I ordered, but because they also offer a super cool deal. For only $28 you choose your favorite designer collaboration they offer (I chose Brain) and your size, and they send you FIVE deadstock t-shirts! FOR TWENTY EIGHT DOLLARS?! They make it clear that you likely won't be receiving 5 shirts from the chosen designer, but they will do their best to send things you would potentially like based on your choice. It's basically a candy goody bag for the clothing lover. I took a gamble and boy was I happy. I was lucky enough to get not one, but two Brain Lichtenberg shirts, both of which are from the current season! Plus all the other shirts they sent are super rad. I swear someone there knows me because they sent me only black and white aka my entire wardrobe.

Not-so-DIY

As an avid DIYer it pains me to know I skipped out of a project I am very capable of completing on my own but I had to make an exception recently. Normally I don't mind horribly tedious and repetitive activities so a shredded t-shirt was up on my to do list but I didn't get to it in time. I came across a seller on Etsy with very reasonable prices so I went against my better judgment and just ordered one. Turns out DIYing is a lot easier when all you do is send money through your paypal from the comfort of your computer chair, wait 2 weeks, and get a package in the mail. Maybe I'll start doing this more often!!

I've been doing lots of online window shopping lately, and one of my favorite sites to drool over is Lazy Oaf. It's not really the style I've been going for but everything is so damn cute. Their pieces have such a sense of humor which I love in clothes. (half this stuff reminds me of Kylie) Here are a few of my favorite pieces



On another note.. I've been obsessed with the idea of ~man sequins~ for a long time now but I haven't figured out how to do it properly yet. It's hard to find the balance between masculine and feminine without looking like a drag queen and that's not really the look I'm going for...

I can't remember where I found this picture, but I think it works because this guy looks like a MAN. Why GOD WHYYYY CAN'T I GROW FACIAL HAIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!?!!

These ASOS Sequin Print Joggers are a little more moderately priced, especally for such a crazy piece I probably won't get much wear out of. These might be the winners to try this look out (although I'm not the biggest fan of the zipper pockets.. hmm.....)
