Gotta love these affordable designer collaborations. The t-shirt I purchased while I was in Copenhagen earlier this winter. I knew I neeeeeded something from the collection, and a t-shirt seemed like a pretty easy crossover piece from the womenswear line. Got the scarf as a gift from the lovely people at H&M when I visited their offices last year. I've been struggling to have a good scarf moment and the latest Acne collection (shown below) solidified that it needs to happen. It's a tough look to pull off but I'm going to try it anyways...

This oversize keyring necklace has become thhhhheee staple piece for Bloggers from the Margiela H&M collaboration. Count it: HOLY, Love Aesthetics, Beckerman Bite Plate, Stop It Right Now... (well, the original, but still counts) Glad to say I got my hands on it so I can match all my favs. The absence of H&M in Winnipeg proves a hindrance on my life time and tiiiime again. Thankfully I have wonderful friends in other cities who kept an eye out for this necklace for me. Thanks to Nick for picking this up for me! What did you think of the collaboration? The micro site is a fun, easy way to spread awareness & raise money for aids research and prevention. The concept is simple. Upload a photo of yourself kissing someone else. (Think girlfriend, boyfriend, mom, cousin, best friend, pet, stranger, tree... anyone!!) H&M will graciously donate $1 to aids prevention for every photo uploaded. How easy is that?! The site doesn't launch to the public until April 5th, so this is the real business. Exclusive stuff for my readers. Gotta love it.
Like I said, this is just phase one of the contest. Shortly, I am going to do a full on contest and I will be closing this one. Perhaps think of this as a pre-contest that is incredibly easy, plus gives you the added bonus of entry into micro site before annnnnybody else. Pretty cool. Sometimes the most unexpected pieces become staples in your wardrobe. An electric yellow leather detachable collar seems like something that wouldn't integrate into your closet, but it just works perfectly. Same goes for the faceless watch. I've blogged about it on here years ago and it always manages to make its way back onto my wrist. As for the bag? If you follow me on Twitter you may have heard me mentioning DIYing a bag which ended up stinking. Oooooooh, the troubles of secondhand fabric. Well, this is the infamous stinky bag. I DIYed a much larger version a few months ago but I figured it might be nice in a smaller size. Guess I'll have to Fabreze it to death and hope that helps.
The music is simple. A nice, feel-good song for the spring. It's been on my iPod for months but it finally seems appropriate to listen to. Makes me get excited for drinks on patios and poolside cocktails. Or just drinking in a back ally on a summer evening. Basically I'm just ready for warm weather & the inevitable drinking it will bring.

In all seriousness, how incredible is the Marni x H&M collection?! I think it's the first H&M collaboration I have seen in years where real attention is paid to the menswear line. Any of the pieces could easily be in the mainline, with the same attention to detail and quality. I'm especially in love with the swim shorts + button down combo (get a better look over at The Dandy Project). Here's hoping my lucky stars align and I somehow get my hands on them. Time for H&M to open in Winnipeg!
