Bombs Away

Bomber Jacket - Brag Vintage / Jeans - Rick Owens DRKSHDW / Rings - Ebay (Wholesale)

If any of you follow my posts at MTV Fora you may have seen my post looking for the perfect bomber jacket. I held off until I truly found the perfect one... and I think I just did. When I saw this one I knew it was right. Just big enough, the right shape on the back, I loved it. We've luckily been having a mild fall here (which I'm loving) but it's about time I pull this bad boy out. And while I've got you... I've never been one to accessorize much, but ever since I got these rings they barely leave my fingers. I bought a wholesale lot of 30 rings in various sizes, so I have at least one for each finger. Cost efficient way to achieve the multi finger ring look. You know me, always thrifty!

Things

Hat - Kenzo / Bracelet - DIY / Sunglasses - Ksubi

A few of my favorite accessories at the moment. The bracelet was inspired by the DIY genius Ivania of Love Aesthetics. A bit of a strange piece but I love in none-the-less. The Ksubi sunglasses were another one of my recent eBay purchases. I think I've officially become a sunglasses junkie. I can't help it! The hat was purchased on a recent trip to Copenhagen at Wood Wood which had an incredible collection of designers. Comme, Kenzo, Opening Ceremony. Beautiful stuff. Couldn't leave there empty handed.

Put A (Key) Ring On It

Turtleneck - Vintage / Necklace - Martin Margiela x H&M
This oversize keyring necklace has become thhhhheee staple piece for Bloggers from the Margiela H&M collaboration. Count it: HOLY, Love Aesthetics, Beckerman Bite Plate, Stop It Right Now... (well, the original, but still counts) Glad to say I got my hands on it so I can match all my favs. The absence of H&M in Winnipeg proves a hindrance on my life time and tiiiime again. Thankfully I have wonderful friends in other cities who kept an eye out for this necklace for me. Thanks to Nick for picking this up for me!
What did you think of the collaboration? What were your stand out pieces? What did you pick up? Tell me everything

Pullteeth for H&M Fashion Against Aids

Good news, everyone! I'm teaming up with H&M for their upcoming Fashion Against Aids line. "How is this going to affect me" you may wonder. Well, it's easy. H&M is providing me with accessories from the new collection to give away to one of my beautiful, incredible, amazing readers. Yes, that means you. The contest is going to run in two parts, the first comes with an added perk. Just follow these easy steps:

1. Comment on this post with your email address & name (even under anonymous)
2. Wait for me to send you an exclusive invite to the H&M Fashion Against Aids micro site
3. That's it! Easy peasy.

The micro site is a fun, easy way to spread awareness & raise money for aids research and prevention. The concept is simple. Upload a photo of yourself kissing someone else. (Think girlfriend, boyfriend, mom, cousin, best friend, pet, stranger, tree... anyone!!) H&M will graciously donate $1 to aids prevention for every photo uploaded. How easy is that?! The site doesn't launch to the public until April 5th, so this is the real business. Exclusive stuff for my readers. Gotta love it.

Like I said, this is just phase one of the contest. Shortly, I am going to do a full on contest and I will be closing this one. Perhaps think of this as a pre-contest that is incredibly easy, plus gives you the added bonus of entry into micro site before annnnnybody else. Pretty cool. Who knows, I might even make part two of the contest extremely difficult, so this might be your only opportunity to enter if you're lazy like me. (Okay, I probably won't.. but you get the point)

Who doesn't love free stuff? Enter nooooow for your chance to win a mystery bag of accessories from H&M!
May the odds be ever in your favor...

Part one of the contest is now CLOSED!
Stay tuned for Part 2
(including photos of the prizes!! omgggggg)

The Perfect Combo

Pleather Bag - DIY / Sunglasses - Ebay / Faceless Watch - Thrifted / Shirt - H&M / Collar - c/o Eleven Objects
Song: Metronomy - The Bay

Sometimes the most unexpected pieces become staples in your wardrobe. An electric yellow leather detachable collar seems like something that wouldn't integrate into your closet, but it just works perfectly. Same goes for the faceless watch. I've blogged about it on here years ago and it always manages to make its way back onto my wrist. As for the bag? If you follow me on Twitter you may have heard me mentioning DIYing a bag which ended up stinking. Oooooooh, the troubles of secondhand fabric. Well, this is the infamous stinky bag. I DIYed a much larger version a few months ago but I figured it might be nice in a smaller size. Guess I'll have to Fabreze it to death and hope that helps.
The music is simple. A nice, feel-good song for the spring. It's been on my iPod for months but it finally seems appropriate to listen to. Makes me get excited for drinks on patios and poolside cocktails. Or just drinking in a back ally on a summer evening. Basically I'm just ready for warm weather & the inevitable drinking it will bring.

Happy Spring...ish!!

Three Looks

Here's a quick look at some of the things I've been wearing the past few weeks.

Hat - Urban Outfitters / T-shirt - Thrift / Collared Shirt - Thrift

Hat - Urban Outfitters / Sunglasses - Vintage / T-shirt - H&M / Silk Collared Shirt - Thrift

Collared shirt - Thrift / Necklace - Thrift
How good is this necklace? I found it at the Goodwill and I think it's the perfect length to wear with a collared shirt. One of those rare thrifting moments where you find exactly what you're looking for. Anyone who thrifts knows you can't take those for granted, that's for sure.

Collar courtesy of Eleven Objects / Lace t-shirt - Thrift / Shorts - Thrift / Bag - Forever 21

Can't get over everything in this post. Lets break this down.
  1. How gooooood is my Eleven Objects collar?! It's impeccably made with smooth leather and even a gold stud closure. (you know I love a good stud) Thanks again to the girls over there for sending me this, it truly is incredible.
  2. What is this lace shirt? I found it in the ladies section in a thrift store but the cut/sleeves just scream menswear. I didn't know how I was going to style it but I think it'll come in more handy than I expected.
  3. Since when did Forever 21 Mens have good accessories?! I thought it was worth a look last time I was walking by the store and I couldn't believe it... This is a perfect faux leather portfolio bag. Not complaining at the price tag, either ($19!!)

Plus having an Eleven Objects collar makes me feel like I'm in such an exclusive blogger club. Check out these Eleven Objects posts on three of my favorite blogs: Stop It Right Now, The Dandy Project, and their poster boy Poliopoliopolio and don't forget to check out their website elevenobjects.com!

New Favorite Accessory: Zana Bayne Harness

I've been humming and hawing for months on one of these guys. It's a strange piece to call a "staple" in a wardrobe but after much convincing I decided that it could be considered that in mine. It ended up being a valentines day present to myself as it showed up earlier today. As soon as I realized what was inside the package I ripped it open and started trying it on over nearly everything I own. And let me tell ya, was I ever right about it being a staple! It transforms the simplest outfits into a complete look. I'm worried I'm going to throw it over any/every outfit for the next little while and everyone around me will be so sick of it. Oh well!! Take a look at a few of my favorite looks.

Worn here with Complex Geometries shirt

Worn here undone with vintage button up

Worn here with Comme Des Garcons SHIRT button up

I strongly suggest ordering one of these if you ever have the chance. The prices are really reasonable considering it's a hand crafted, custom made leather piece. I see big things in the future for this girl! Plus I think it's good blogger karma helping out a fellow blogger. ;) Check out her shop at the link below.

Etsy Shopping

I was doing a little browsing on Etsy this evening and I find it unbelievably difficult to browse the site and not buy anything. So, I thought I would share some of my favorite items I came across with you guys. Hopefully someone else can afford some of these beauts!

The studded loafers are incredible though. I might just have to break the bank for those babies (if they have my size, that is). They remind me a lot of the beautiful Louboutin Studded Loafers everyone, including myself, is going crazy for. I'll also probably order the Mickey Mouse skull ring.

PS: Feel free to order any of these things for me :P

Louise Vuitton

This is an accessories post.
First off this pimp shit necklace that was a Christmas gift from none other than Gunsathome's Steffy Step on me Stefanie.
Weirdest but coolest glasses I think I've ever thrifted. $1.99 for these bad boys.
Does anyone know someone named Kilo? I don't know who made this but I like. I may change it to OK, but Kilo will stay for now.
